Is Lalibet Still Operating?

The brand has not disappeared. The official website responds and redirects visitors to a sportsbook page for upcoming events. Lalibet’s Instagram profile describes an Addis Ababa-based online and offline betting business with five locations in Sheger. The account also carried branded posts during 2026.

During our check, the main domain loaded and redirected to Lalibet’s sportsbook address for upcoming events. This confirms that the operator still maintains its website, although an active domain is not proof that every betting and payment function is currently available to Ethiopian customers. The nationwide licence revocation also means that website availability should not be mistaken for official permission to accept real-money bets in Ethiopia.

We therefore regard Lalibet as an active brand with a functioning public website, while its present betting, deposit and withdrawal services remain unconfirmed. The operator would need to publish current licensing and payment information before those services could be assessed as fully operational for Ethiopian users.

Sportsbook and Other Betting Products

The sportsbook has traditionally been Lalibet’s main product, and the website still routes users towards upcoming events. Published terms define the offering as Sports, Casino, Live Casino and Games, available through desktop, mobile and USSD. The service was therefore designed to extend beyond conventional sports wagering.

Lalibet expressly warns that pictures and data can be delayed, so an on-screen score may differ from the information used for settlement.

Virtual football, horse racing and greyhound simulations have also formed part of Lalibet’s product range. Current legal text uses only the general label “Games,” leaving the present virtual catalogue unconfirmed.

Lalibet Jackpots and Promotions

Lalibet has previously promoted two jackpot formats with an announced prize of ETB 1 million each. One was based on predicting match winners, while the other required correct-score selections. The brand’s social channels have advertised different prediction prizes at other times, indicating that its campaigns and prize pools change.

No accessible official promotion page confirmed either ETB 1 million jackpot or a current welcome bonus during our check. These offers should therefore be treated as past promotions rather than guaranteed rewards for new customers in 2026.

The terms allow separate promotion rules and withdrawal of offers at any time. A valid offer should identify its qualifying deposit, minimum odds, turnover, expiry, eligible markets and withdrawal restrictions. Without those details, its real value cannot be assessed.

Creating a Lalibet Account

Official terms say minimum amounts and processing times depend on the method shown in the account. Withdrawals normally return through the deposit method, and the financial-account name must match the Lalibet profile. Identity checks can delay first or unusually large withdrawals.

Published rules permit a fee of up to 8% when deposits are withdrawn without being wagered three times. They also mention ETB 5 million as a daily maximum win and as a seven-day withdrawal limit for casino or games winnings. But these are 2022 figures and may no longer apply.

More importantly, we could not verify that shops, prepaid codes, deposits or withdrawals are currently processing gambling transactions. The nationwide licence decision instructed financial institutions and payment providers to block betting-related transfers. Until Lalibet publishes newer, regulator-compatible payment information, the cashier should be treated as unconfirmed rather than described as fast or convenient.

Lalibet’s Mobile Access

Lalibet’s terms identify its main website, a mobile subdomain and USSD as delivery channels. We found no current official Google Play or Apple App Store listing. There is an APK offered by an unrelated mirror which cannot be treated as an official Lalibet application.

Is Lalibet Licensed in Ethiopia in 2026?

No current Ethiopian sports-betting licence can be confirmed for Lalibet. The help centre still displays an old licence claim, and the terms identify sports licence number BL/AA/14/673/5492510/2013. That document was last updated in April 2022 and reflects the previous regulatory framework.

On 15 December 2025, the Ethiopian Lottery Service revoked every sports-betting licence. The order covered online platforms, shops and agents, prohibited new bets and deposit gateways, and instructed financial institutions to suspend related transactions. In July 2026, the authority reiterated that no sportsbook was legally licensed in Ethiopia.

Lalibet’s continuing website and promotional activity do not override that decision. Calling the operator licensed, regulated or fully legal in Ethiopia on the strength of its old terms would be inaccurate. A foreign licence would not automatically authorise Ethiopian operations either, and we found no newer Ethiopian approval restoring Lalibet’s former position.

Our View of Lalibet in 2026

Lalibet has a stronger footprint than brands whose domains have expired or become unrelated affiliate pages. Its website is live, its help centre contains substantial rules, and its social profile remained active in 2026. Historically, the platform combined live and prematch sports with esports, virtual products, jackpots and shop payments.

The concerns remain substantial. Current registration and payments could not be tested, up-to-date bonus conditions are unavailable, and the legal pages still present a licence overtaken by the nationwide revocation. Ethiopia’s regulator says no sportsbook currently holds a valid local licence.

For that reason, Lalibet remains an established brand with an active digital presence, but it cannot be recommended as a verified legal betting site in Ethiopia. Its unconfirmed product lists and promotional figures should be treated as historical unless the operator makes current terms accessible and a competent regulator confirms renewed authorisation.
